These seeds are from Tagetes lemmonii, also known as Shrub Marigold, Mexican Bush Marigold, Mount Lemmon Marigold, and Copper Canyon Daisy. This drought tolerant perennial likes to live in full sun where it can grow to about 6 feet high. The gold, yellow and orange blossoms bloom repeatedly throughout the year and attract a wide variety of birds, bees, and butterflies. This plant is very fragrant which may be why the deer leave it alone. Tagetes in general are larval hosts for the Dainty Sulphur butterfly. USDA Hardiness Zones 8 to 11.
