These seeds were collected from Lonicera alpigena, also known as alpine honeysuckle. This ornamental shrub likes to live in sun to partial shade where it can grow up to about 6 feet high and sports red flowers and red fruit. Lonicera in general are larval host plants for the Red-spotted Purple or White Admiral butterfly, and the Snowberry Clearwing, Hummingbird Clearwing, Behrensia conchiformis, Brown-lined Sallow, and Euceratia castella moths. They are also a nectar source for the Vashti sphinx, Tersa Sphinx, Poecila sphinx, Apple sphinx, and Abbotts sphinx moths. USDA Hardiness Zones 5 to 9.
