These seeds were collected from Cassia roxburghii, also known as Ceylon Senna, and Red Cassia. This tropical tree grows well in full sun to light shade. It grows about 30 feet high and sports orange, mauve, rose, and pink blossoms from late spring until early fall. This tree is deer resistant. Cassia in general are larval hosts for the Cloudless Sulphur, Apricot Sulphur, Tailed Orange, Mottled Longtail, Boisduvals Yellow, Mercurial Skipper, Broken Silverdrop, Orange-barred Sulphur, Tailed Sulphur, Shy Yellow, and Sleepy Orange butterflies. It is also a larval host for the Dot-lined Angle Moth. USDA Hardiness Zones 10 to 11.
