This is Nyctanthes arbor-tristis, also known as Tree-of-Sorrow, parijat, Tree of Sadness, Coral Jasmine, and Night-flowering Jasmine. This plant has fragrant beautiful flowers which open at dusk and finish at dawn. These flowers are also used to make a yellow dye for clothing. This is the official flower for the state of West Bengal, India. This plant appears in many Hindu religious stories.
